IMPACT ATTENUATOR AND VEHICLE, TRAILER AND GUARDRAIL COMPRISING SUCH AN IMPACT ATTENUATOR
The following invention relates to an impact attenuator for roadside application, suited for reducing the severity of a collision by absorbing at least part of the kinetic energy of an object, and specifically a vehicle, colliding with the impact attenuator. Said impact attenuator comprises: an energy absorption body comprising a first part and a second part extending substantially lengthwise behind each other, wherein the first and second part are mutually moveable; and a first and a second cutting edge, wherein, upon impact, the first cutting edge is arranged for splitting the first part of the energy absorption body and the second cutting edge is arranged for consecutively splitting the second part of the energy absorption body. The invention furthermore relates to a vehicle comprising such an impact attenuator, a trailer comprising such an impact attenuator and a guardrail comprising such an impact attenuator.
La présente invention concerne un atténuateur d'impact pour une application routière, approprié pour réduire la gravité d'une collision par absorption d'au moins une partie de l'énergie cinétique d'un objet, et en particulier d'un véhicule qui entre en collision avec l'atténuateur d'impact. Ledit atténuateur d'impact comprend : un corps d'absorption d'énergie comprenant une première partie et une seconde partie qui s'étendent sensiblement longitudinalement l'une derrière l'autre, les première et seconde parties étant mobiles les unes par rapport aux autres ; et un premier et un second bord tranchant, lors de l'impact le premier bord tranchant étant conçu pour trancher la première partie du corps d'absorption d'énergie et le second bord tranchant étant conçu pour trancher de manière consécutive la seconde partie du corps d'absorption d'énergie. L'invention concerne en outre un véhicule comprenant un tel atténuateur d'impact, une remorque comprenant un tel atténuateur d'impact et une glissière de sécurité comprenant un tel atténuateur d'impact.
