SYSTEM AND METHOD OF REINFORCING AN IN-GROUND UTILITY POLE
A system for reinforcing an in-ground utility pole (1 ), for example, a frangible classified street light pole, having a region of corrosion (2) at or below ground level, the system including at least one reinforcement nail (3) and a plurality of blind fasteners, the reinforcement nail (3) including an elongate main body (5) for abutting an outer wall of the pole, the main body (5) including an upper section (6) and a lower section (8) with each section having at least one aperture (7) therein, the upper and lower sections (6,8) being, in use, secured to the pole (1 ) above and below the region of corrosion (2), respectively, by said blind fasteners passing through the apertures (7) and into the pole (1 ), such that the nail (3) bridges across the region of corrosion (2) to thereby reinforce the pole (1 ) and enable the pole (1 ) to retain a frangible classification.
L'invention concerne un système permettant de renforcer un poteau électrique dans le sol (1), par exemple un poteau de lampadaire classé frangible présentant une zone de corrosion (2) au niveau ou en dessous du niveau du sol, ledit système comprenant au moins un élément de renforcement (3) et une pluralité d'organes de fixation aveugles, l'élément de renforcement (3) comprenant un corps principal allongé (5) destiné à venir en appui contre une paroi extérieure du poteau, le corps principal (5) comprenant une section supérieure (6) et une section inférieure (8), chaque section présentant au moins une ouverture (7), les sections supérieure et inférieure (6, 8) étant fixées au poteau (1) au-dessus et en dessous de la zone de corrosion (2), respectivement, par lesdits éléments de fixation aveugles passant à travers les ouvertures (7) et dans le poteau (1), de telle sorte que l'élément de renforcement (3) enjambe la zone de corrosion (2), renforçant ainsi le poteau (1) et permettant au poteau (1) de conserver une classification frangible.
