Die Erfindung betrifft eine Transparente, splitterfreie, beschusshemmende Verglasung (1) mit Brandschutzeigenschaften, bestehend aus – einem ballistischen Block (3), der aus mindestens zwei transparenten Scheiben (3.1), die durch mindestens eine transparente, haftvermittelnde Schicht (3.2) haftfest miteinander verbunden sind, aufgebaut ist, wobei jede Scheibe (3.1) eine Dicke von mindestens 3 mm aufweist, – einer Brandschutzeinheit (2), die aus mindestens zwei durch eine transparente, intumeszierende Schicht (2.2) haftfest verbundenen transparenten Scheiben (2.1) aufgebaut ist, und – mindestens einem Abstandshalter (4) zwischen der Brandschutzeinheit (2) und dem ballistischen Block (3), deren Oberflächen parallel oder im Wesentlichen parallel zueinander angeordnet sind, so dass sich zwischen ihnen ein Hohlraum (H) befindet.
