Die Erfindung betrifft eine Gitterstruktur, insbesondere eine Stahlgitterstruktur, mit zumindest einem Längselement (12a, 14a; 12b, 14b; 12c, 14c; 12d, 14d) und mit zumindest einem rechtwinklig oder schräg zu dem Längselement (12a, 14a; 12b, 14b; 12c, 14c; 12d, 14d) verlaufenden, als Einzeldraht, Stab, Drahtlitze, Rohr oder Profil ausgebildeten Randelement (16a, 18a; 16b; 16c; 16d), das insbesondere zumindest einen Teil eines Gitterrands (24a; 24b; 24c; 24d) ausbildet, wobei das Längselement (12a, 14a; 12b, 14b; 12c, 14c; 12d, 14d) zu dessen Befestigung an dem Randelement (16a, 18a, 20a, 22a; 16b; 16c; 16d) in einem Befestigungsbereich (26a; 26b; 26c; 26d) des Randelements (16a, 18a, 20a, 22a; 16b; 16c; 16d) mehrfach um das Randelement (16a, 18a, 20a, 22a; 16b; 16c; 16d) gewickelt ist.
