Die Erfindung betrifft eine Handhabe (1) für ein Kraftfahrzeug, mit einem Montageträger (30), der innenseitig einer Tür (2) des Kraftfahrzeuges befestigbar ist, einem Griff (10), der außenseitig der Tür (2) des Kraftfahrzeuges anordenbar ist und am Montageträger(30) befestigt ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass der Montageträger (30) ein Steuerelement (40) aufweist, das mit einem außenseitig der Tür (2) anordenbaren Sicherungselement (80) in Wirkverbindung steht, wobei das Steuerelement (40) von einer Haltestellung (5) in eine Sicherungsstellung (6) bewegbar ist, wodurch der Abstand zwischen Sicherungselement (80) und dem Steuerelement (40) reduzierbar ist, so dass eine zuverlässige Fixierung des Montageträgers (30) an der Tür (2) erzielbar ist.
