A door handle cover device according to an embodiment may comprise: a sensor unit for sensing a movement applied to an entrance door; a communication unit which, when a movement applied to the entrance door is sensed, performs synchronization with a user terminal through a first signal and simultaneously performs synchronization with a relay device connected to a home network through a second signal, so as to transmit data related to the door handle cover device to the user terminal and the relay device, which in turn transmit the data related to the door handle cover device to a server; and a control unit which, when data on the movement applied to the entrance door is analyzed by the server, determines whether the entrance door is opened/closed, on the basis of the result of the analysis.
