CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE COMPONENTS WITH CRYSTALLIZED GLASS INSERTS
There is provided a ceramic matrix composite component (10) having a body (12) comprising a ceramic matrix composite material (14) and a plurality of grooves (24, 25, 26) extending from a top surface (16) of the body (12) and into the body (12). An insert (27, 30, 32) of a crystallized glass material (28) is disposed within respective ones of the plurality of grooves (24, 25, 26). The inserts (27, 30, 32) of crystallized glass material (28) are effective to at least increase an interlaminar strength of the ceramic matrix composite material (14).
L'invention concerne un élément composite à matrice céramique (10) comportant un corps (12) comprenant un matériau composite à matrice céramique (14) et une pluralité de rainures (24, 25, 26) s'étendant à partir d'une surface supérieure (16) du corps (12) et dans le corps (12). Un insert (27, 30, 32) d'un matériau de verre cristallisé (28) est disposé à l'intérieur des rainures respectives de la pluralité de rainures (24, 25, 26). Les inserts (27, 30, 32) de matériau de verre cristallisé (28) sont efficaces pour au moins augmenter une résistance interlaminaire du matériau composite à matrice céramique (14).
