Die Erfindung betrifft einen Werkstoffverbund (1) mit einer ersten Schicht (2), welche zumindest aus einem keramischen ersten Werkstoff gebildet ist; und einer auf der ersten Schicht (2) angeordneten zweiten Schicht (3), welche zumindest aus einem von dem ersten Werkstoff verschiedenen keramischen zweiten Werkstoff gebildet ist. Um eine höhere thermische und/oder mechanische Belastbarkeit zu erzielen, ist vorgesehen, dass eine zwischen der ersten Schicht (2) und der zweiten Schicht (3) angeordnete und zumindest teilweise aus einem Molybdän-Titancarbid-Kompositwerkstoff gebildete Verbindungsschicht (4), über welche die erste Schicht (2) mit der zweiten Schicht (3) verbunden ist.
