The invention relates to a building method comprising at least the following steps: arranging elongated building elements (1), such as logs, in the form of a framework (4) on top of a construction base (3) in connection with a work platform (2); arranging further elongated building elements (1) on top of the framework (4), thereby building up a tubular construction (5); and attaching the elongated building elements (1), placed on top of each other, firmly to each other; and continuing the attaching of elongated building elements (1) until the tubular construction (5) has reached a desired height. The building method according to the invention is characterized in keeping the construction base (3) above the work platform (2) first, and then moving the construction base (3) down with respect to the work platform (2) as the building proceeds so that the distance of the top surface (6) of the tubular construction (5) from the work platform (2), i.e. the working height (7), is maintained between 0.5 and 2.0 m. The invention also relates to a building arrangement.
