A maintenance assistance device comprises an attachment use time acquisition unit that is mounted to a work machine and that acquires the amount of time that an attachment, other than a bucket, is used, and an approximate maintenance time calculation unit that calculates the approximate maintenance time for consumables installed on the work machine on the basis of the amount of time that the attachment has been used.
