An alarm device (1) comprises a base (2), a cover (3), a movable joint (4) between the cover (3) and the base (2), and elements for registering a change in position of the cover, wherein the base (2) is mountable to the surface of an object to be protected, in a region (7) of a lock of said object to be protected, and the cover (3) is attached to the base (2) by means of the movable joint (4) such as to be movable relative to said base (2), wherein the elements for registering a change in position of the cover (3) are capable of interacting with an alarm system in the event that the cover (3) is moved relative to the base (2). A system (5) for registering a change in the state of the cover (3) is formed of at least the cover (3), the movable joint (4) between the cover and the base (2), and at least one electronic component (6) which interacts with an alarm system in the event of a change in the state of the cover (3). When the alarm device (1) is in a position in which the cover (3) covers the region (7) of a lock of the object to be protected, which region must be accessed in order to open the lock, a part of at least one of the elements of said system (5) for registering a change in the state of the cover (3) is disposed in front of said region (7) of a lock of the object to be protected.
