BLANK FOR FABRICATING WEAR MEMBER FOR A GROUND-ENGAGING TOOL

A blank (34) for fabricating a wear member (30) for a ground-engaging tool (10) includes a one-piece block (35) having a boss channel (72) and a lock bore (37) each formed therein. The one-piece block (35) includes a peripheral edge (94) that projects upon lateral sides (66,68) and a front end (58) of the one-piece block (35), the peripheral edge (94) originating and terminating at a back end (60) of the block (35), to form a continuous welding interface (96) that is partially perimetric of the one-piece block (35), for welding to a body of a wear member (38). The blank (34) can be used to fabricate a variety of different wear members (30) including shrouds, tooth tips, edge protectors, or others.

L'invention concerne une ébauche (34) de fabrication d'un élément d'usure (30) destiné à un outil de mise en prise avec le sol (10). Ladite ébauche comprend un bloc monobloc (35) ayant un canal de bossage (72) et un alésage de verrouillage (37) formés chacun à l'intérieur de celui-ci. Le bloc monobloc (35) comprend un bord périphérique (94) qui fait saillie sur des côtés latéraux (66, 68) et une extrémité avant (58) du bloc monobloc (35). Le bord périphérique (94) s'étend au niveau d'une extrémité arrière (60) du bloc (35), pour former une interface de soudage continue (96) qui est partiellement périmétrique du bloc monobloc (35), destinée au soudage à un corps d'un élément d'usure (38). L'ébauche (34) peut être utilisée pour fabriquer une variété d'éléments d'usure différents (30) comprenant des carénages, des pointes de dents, des protecteurs de bord, ou autres.
