Ein Aspekt der Erfindung betrifft ein Spülbecken (1) mit einer Wanne (2), die eine Bodenwand (3) und daran anschließende Seitenwände (4, 5, 6, 7) aufweist, und die Wanne (2) einen durch die Wände (4 bis 7) begrenzten Aufnahmeraum (8) aufweist, wobei das Spülbecken (1) eine zur Wanne (2) separate Einsatzplatte (10) aufweist, die in den Aufnahmeraum (8) eingesetzt ist, wobei das Spülbecken (1) eine Hubvorrichtung (11) aufweist, mit welcher die Einsatzplatte (10) relativ zur Wanne (2) verfahrbar ist, wobei in der Bodenwand (3) eine Ablauföffnung (27) zum Ablaufen von Medien aus der Wanne (2) ausgebildet ist und an der Einsatzplatte (10) eine Verschließvorrichtung (28) angeordnet ist, mit welcher das Zulaufen von Medien in der Wanne (2) zur Ablauföffnung (27) verhinderbar ist.
