A wafer boat according to the present disclosure is provided with: a plurality of columnar supports having a plurality of grooves on which wafers are to be placed; and a support plate for supporting both ends of each of the supports. Each of the supports is formed of a ceramic that contains aluminum oxide or silicon carbide as a main component, and the outer surface of each of the supports has a ground surface and/or a polished surface.
