Disclosed is a deodorizing and sterilizing device for a toilet, the device comprising: a housing, a bonding clamping plate (1), a controller (U4), a photosensitive resistor (2) for generating a first control signal when light is detected, an angle sensing switch (3) for generating a second control signal when it is detected that the angle of the housing is greater than a preset value, and an ultraviolet LED (4), wherein the housing is clamped on the bonding clamping plate (1); the bonding clamping plate (1) is bonded to a toilet lid; the photosensitive resistor (2) and the ultraviolet LED (4) are both mounted on the lower surface of the housing; the controller (U4) is respectively connected to the photosensitive resistor (2), the angle sensing switch (3) and the ultraviolet LED (4); the angle sensing switch (3) is connected to the housing; and the controller (U4) activates the ultraviolet LED (4) when same receives the first control signal and the second control signal. According to the device, the ultraviolet LED is turned on by means of detecting the state of the toilet lid, such that the object surface is irradiated to directly kill various bacteria, viruses, parasites and other pathogens and decompose odorous molecules, thereby achieving the effects of sterilization, disinfection and deodorization and having high applicability.
