An excavator (100) is provided with: a lower traveling body (1); an upper turning body (3) turnably mounted on the lower traveling body (1); an attachment mounted to the upper turning body (3); a bucket (6) forming the attachment; and a controller (30) that calculates the weight of soil transferred from inside the bucket (6) to a cargo bed of a dump truck on the basis of the weight of soil in the bucket (6) and an output from an imaging device (S6) serving as a space recognition device which recognizes a space around the upper turning body (3). The controller (30) adds the weight of soil in the bucket (6) to a load weight which is the weight of soil placed on the cargo bed of the dump truck when, for example, a soil discharge operation is carried out on the cargo bed of the dump truck.
