A TAG-, TYAG- or TYSAG-based paramagnetic garnet-type transparent ceramic exhibiting a high laser damage threshold, said ceramic being characterized by comprising a sintered body of a garnet-type complex oxide represented by formula (1), wherein the luminescence lifetime from the 5D4→7F5 transition of the Tb(III) ions contained in the sintered body is 346 µs or longer. Formula (1): (Tb1-x-yYxScy)3(Al1-zScz）5O12 (In the formula, 0≤x<0.45, 0≤y<0.08, 0≤z<0.16, and 0.001<0.20.)
Céramique transparente de type grenat paramagnétique à base de TAG, de TYAG ou de TYSAG présentant un seuil de détérioration laser élevé, ladite céramique étant caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend un corps fritté d'un oxyde complexe de type grenat représenté par la formule (1), la durée de luminescence à partir de la transition 5D4→7F5 des ions Tb(III) contenus dans le corps fritté étant supérieure ou égale à 346 µs.
