SMART DEVICE FOR AUTHORIZING MERCHANDISE SECURITY KEYS
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a merchandise security devices, keys, systems, and methods for displaying an item of merchandise and protecting the merchandise from theft. A merchandise security system includes a merchandise security key comprising wireless communication circuitry, the merchandise security key configured to operate a merchandise security device. The merchandise security system also includes a smart device comprising wireless communication circuitry, wherein the smart device is configured to communicate with the merchandise security key via respective wireless communication circuitry to determine whether to authorize the merchandise security key to operate the merchandise security device.
Des modes de réalisation de la présente invention concernent des dispositifs, des clés, des systèmes et des procédés de sécurité de marchandise permettant d'afficher un article de marchandise et de protéger la marchandise contre le vol. Un système de sécurité de marchandise comporte une clé de sécurité de marchandise comprenant une circuiterie de communication sans fil, la clé de sécurité de marchandise étant configurée pour actionner un dispositif de sécurité de marchandise. Le système de sécurité de marchandise comporte également un dispositif intelligent comprenant une circuiterie de communication sans fil, le dispositif intelligent étant configuré pour communiquer avec la clé de sécurité de marchandise par l'intermédiaire d'une circuiterie de communication sans fil respectif de manière à déterminer s'il faut autoriser la clé de sécurité de marchandise à actionner le dispositif de sécurité de marchandise.
