SOLID STATE ELECTROCHROMIC EYEWEAR
The present disclosure relates to an electrochromic lens for use in an eyewear apparatus. More particularly the present disclosure includes a lens incorporating a high coloration speed electrochromic element within the lens. The high coloration speed electrochromic element includes an insulating layer, comprising an electrically insulating material with a dielectric constant of at least 10, positioned between two electrochromic materials having one or more optical properties that may be changed upon application of an electric potential with switching speeds that are less than 5 seconds. An opposite electric potential may be provided to reverse the change in the one or more optical properties. Methods of preparation of the lenses and the associated eyewear assemblies are also described herein.
La présente divulgation concerne un verre électrochrome destiné à être utilisé dans un système de lunettes. Plus particulièrement, la présente divulgation concerne un verre dans lequel est intégré un élément électrochrome à vitesse de coloration élevée. Les dispositifs électrochromes à vitesse de coloration élevée comportent une couche isolante (16), comprenant une matière électriquement isolante à constante diélectrique d'au moins 10, placée entre deux matières électrochromes (14,18) possédant une ou plusieurs propriétés optiques qui peuvent être modifiées lors de l'application d'un potentiel électrique à des vitesses de changement de moins de 5 secondes. Un potentiel électrique opposé peut être fourni pour inverser le changement des une ou plusieurs propriétés optiques. L'invention concerne également des procédés de préparation des verres et les ensembles de lunettes associés.
