Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Energieversorgungsvorrichtung für eine Werkzeugmaschine, wobei die Energieversorgungsvorrichtung mindestens eine Zelle umfasst. Die mindestens eine Zelle weist eine Nominalkapazität von mindestens 1,5 Ampèrestunden auf, sowie eine Oberfläche A und ein Volumen V. Die Oberfläche A der mindestens einen Zelle ist größer ist als das Achtfache der dritten Wurzel des Quadrats des Volumens V der mindestens einen Zelle. Darüber hinaus ist ein Verhältnis von Widerstand und Oberfläche der mindestens einen Zelle kleiner als 0,2 Milliohm/cm² ist. In einem zweiten Aspekt betrifft die Erfindung eine Werkzeugmaschine mit einer vorgeschlagenen Energieversorgungsvorrichtung.
