In the roof window, the hinge assembly (9) comprises means to allow the sash (3) to be rotated about a substantially horizontal second hinge axis (β) at a distance from the top frame member and top sash member to provide a plurality of additional open positions in a second operational condition. A sash installation component (35) is provided to support the sash (3) in the second operational condition of the roof window (1).
