GUARD RAIL SYSTEM
A protective barrier (100) includes a rigid upright member including a post (110, 115), a fitting (130, 150) having a housing (131) with a first outer surface and a first inner surface. The housing (131) includes a first hole (133) extending from the first outer surface to the first inner surface; a first end, a second end and an inner chamber defined by the inner surface of the housing (131) and extending from the first end to the second end; the first end having a flange sized and shaped for attachment to an outer surface of the rigid upright (110, 115); at least one support member (132) disposed within the inner chamber and extending from the first end toward the second end of the housing (131), the support member (132) including a second hole (134). The protective barrier (100) also comprises a hollow rail (120) including a third end sized and shaped for being received within the inner chamber, the hollow plastic rail (120) including a third hole (121); and a fastener (122) extending through the first hole ((133), second hole (134) and third hole (121) such that the hollow plastic rail (120) is secured to the fitting (130, 150).
