The invention relates to a water collection system comprising an artificial tree (1) formed by a trunk and a crown, and a control module (2) that is configured to collect the water collected by the artificial tree (1) and to increase water collection through the artificial tree (1). The trunk of the artificial tree (1) comprises at least two tubes: an outer tube (9) and an inner tube (10) that is located inside the outer tube (9); wherein between the two tubes (9, 10) there is a coaxial space (11) filled with an absorbent material (15) to collect water in a liquid and gaseous state. The crown of the artificial tree (1) comprises a set of leaves (7) and tubular branch structures (6) that converge at an upper portion of the inner tube (10). The water collected by the artificial tree (1) runs downwards until it reaches the control module (2).
