Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur kombinierten thermischen und mechano-chemischen Aktivierung von mineralischem Material, wobei das Verfahren die folgenden Schritte aufweist: a) Grobzerkleinern und Trocknen des mineralischen Materials, b) Mahlen und mechano-chemische Aktivierung in einer ersten Hochenergiemühle (40), c) thermische Aktivierung in einer thermischen Behandlungsvorrichtung (90), wobei Schritt b) vor Schritt c) oder Schritt c) vor Schritt b) durchgeführt wird.
