Die Erfindung betrifft Bauteil (1) mit einem Bauteilkörper (2) aus einem reaktionsgebundenen Siliciumcarbid (RBSiC), wobei der Bauteilkörper (2) eine zumindest teilweise mit einer Beschichtung (4) beschichtete Körperoberfläche (3) aufweist, wobei die Beschichtung (4) aus Siliciumcarbid (SiC) mit einer Schichtdicke von wenigstens 25 µm besteht. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem eine Verwendung einer solchen SiC-Beschichtung und ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Bauteils mit SiC-Beschichtung.
