SELF-PROPELLED MOBILE ASPHALT HEATING UNIT AND METHOD
A self-propelled system (100) for thermally repairing asphalt by an operator is provided along with ways of using the system (100). The self-propelled system (100) may include a drive wheel, an engine, a steering device (150), and a frame assembly (110). The engine may be configured to selectively provide power to the drive wheel to propel the asphalt repair system (100). The steering device (150) may be configured to steer the asphalt repair system (100). A heating unit (160) may be supported by the frame assembly (110) and include a deployable portion (164) and (165) configured to pivot between a deployed position and a non-deployed position. The deployed position has the deployable portion (164) and (165) extending beyond an edge of the frame assembly (110) and the non-deploy ed position has the deployable portion (164) and (165) not extending beyond the edge of the frame assembly (110).
