Performance and Applications of Wood-Based Fiber Reinforced Concrete: A Comprehensive Review
Engineered cementitious composites (ECC) are ultra-ductile cement-based composite material reinforced with short randomly distributed fibers. It differs from fibre-reinforced concrete (FRC) in that it has a distinct ductile behaviour. The study aims to assess wood-based fiber-reinforced concrete. Its benefits and applications to engineering and construction. Timber-Concrete hybrid building was also accessed in the study under the headings composite action, improved strength and stiffness, sound and vibration performance and fire résistance. The benefits of cement and wood fibers are combined in wood-based fiber reinforced concrete (WBFR), a composite material that produces a robust and long-lasting building material. By addressing these aspects, this research aims to contribute to the advancement of sustainable and high-performance construction materials and techniques.
