Determining strategies for urban growth in Gorgan, Iran: An analysis via SWOT approach
The population growth is the primary cause in the rapid urban expansion and its unbalanced distribution would have adverse effects on the natural and cultural environment of urban communities. The aim of this study is to evaluate the strategic policies of urban growth in the city of Gorgan, Iran. Through analyzing and interpreting strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) in the study area, strategies of urban growth were suggested.
