Renewable Energy Sources for Decarbonization of Smart Cities
This paper deals with the research that will be carried on within the project “Maximizing the Renewable Energy Hosting Capacity of distribution networks”. The project proposes innovative architectures and algorithms to be integrated into innovative energy networks to lead to the decarbonization of the energy sector, contributing to a sustainable future. The research will lead to the realization of an advanced energy management system to control the in-depth operation of energy systems equipped with renewable energy sources and different types of batteries. A battery storage connected to this grid as well as hydrogen storage in on/off grid mode will be researched and modelled to maximize economic returns.
