Using Smart Colored Windows for Improving Users’ Comfort in Buildings
A building envelope and its performance evaluation utilizing various smart coated window glass panes that turn to different colors/shades according to the intensity of the exposed solar radiation is presented. The results show the application of a multi-color photochromic window-pane with the same and various color proportions improve the Daylight Glare Probability by 54 and 60% and the Useful Daylight Illuminance by 36 and 37% compared to blank glass, respectively.
