CFD Simulation of Wind Load on tall Modified Building Shapes
Accurately evaluating and predicting wind loads, along with implementing proper mitigation strategies, are crucial for reducing the adverse effects of wind in the built environment. This CFD simulation analyzes the airflow around an isolated high-rise building to address these concerns. Additionally, this study thoroughly investigates aerodynamic modification techniques applied to high-rise buildings, utilizing appropriate mathematical formulations and numerical approaches. The velocity inlet condition was applied using user-defined functions (UDF). The findings show a good agreement with experimental counterparts and provide comprehensive data to choose the best cases (Basic, Corner Cut, Chamfered, and Rounding).
