Assisting Victims of Road Accidents: a Case Study of Aeromedical Transport Improvements
Traffic collision is a challenge not only to mobility (with closed roads during accidents), but also with emergency care (for victims, where the time of care is a crucial). Aiming at decrease the total transport time for helping the accident victims, we studied the route planning service based on data provided by aeromedical service providers. Given that perspective, this article presents a kNN-select algorithm with features such as flight plan, ambulance and hospital locations. Along with a prototype using airfields, helipads, hospitals and accidents open data, the main support bases and priority areas of assistance are suggested (in order to optimize the allocation of resources).
