Remote Healthcare Monitoring of Hajj Pilgrims Utilizing Blockchain-Based IoT
The current widespread pandemic has burdened governments across the globe at managing large gatherings. Hajj, one of the largest gatherings and an important pillar of Islam, needs responsible management. Certain initiatives taken by authorities to ensure hazel-free pilgrimage which include assigning bracelet-based trackers, accommodation and intra- transport facilities has eased the situation to great extent. However, the healthcare of pilgrims is one of the most critical aspects that need immediate attention. The same can be ensured using remote health monitoring of pilgrims. Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain are promising techniques for sophisticated and well-developed remote healthcare monitoring systems. We propose a blockchain-based remote monitoring system that utilizes sensors and smart contracts to provide real-time updates to health workers and services to pilgrims.
