Advanced Concrete Optical Fiber Sensors for Remote Structural Health Monitoring of Concrete Structures
This paper reports the measuring of relative humidity changes in concrete using polymer fiber Bragg grating sensors. The polymer Bragg gratings were developed using a femtosecond laser inscription method and embedded in concrete specimens. The wavelength shift response of the optical fiber sensors was monitored every hour for seven days, and the humidity desorption of the concrete mixture was successfully noted.
