Blockchain-based Framework for Construction Regulations Monitoring
Generally, large-scale construction projects are initiated by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, which typically assigns construction companies to manage the delivery of these projects. During their operational lifetime, several monitoring reports are generated and submitted to the housing establishment to ensure compliance with active environmental and sustainability regulations. In some cases, employees from the housing establishment may visit the construction sites to verify adherence to these regulations. This construction monitoring process can be costly and time-consuming. Therefore, this paper proposes a blockchain-based monitoring framework that automates the construction monitoring process. Equipped with an IoT component to facilitate monitoring tasks, this framework enhances security by ensuring the authenticity of the data collected from the construction sites. With this framework, housing establishment personnel can submit monitoring requests for decentralized execution. Experimental results show that the cost of using this proposed framework is less than $3.
