Effect of Organic Fluids On Geothermal Organic Rankine Cycle Performance
The performance of the geothermal Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) is compared using different organic fluids in this paper. This work shows a brief study of the thermal characteristics of organic fluids used as a working fluid in ORCs driven by geothermal energy. The comparison is carried out under the same operating conditions for all organic fluids. The results of mass flow rates, specific work and efficiency are summarized in tables for nine different organic fluids. The results show that the highest specific work of turbine is obtained for iso-pentane, which is about 77.7 kJ/kg and highest thermal efficiency is obtained R-133 of about 19 %.
