A nonlinear complementary model for traffic assignment problem
The concept of network system equilibrium is defined in this paper, based on which the traffic assignment problem is modeled as a nonlinear complementary problem. It is proven that the solution of this model can be obtained by solving a mathematical programming and there is a unique solution to the related mathematical programming. Two examples are studied to verify the new approach, which shows that more reasonable results can be obtained in this way.
