Enhancing the High-Temperature Rheology of Warm Asphalt Binders Using Micronized Crumb Rubber
This study investigates the effects of Micronized Crumb Rubber (MCR) on the high-temperature rheology of a PG 64 (80/100 PEN grade) bitumen. The modified warm asphalt binders were prepared with different MCR dosages. Dynamic Shear Rheometer was used to assess the rheology of the modified binders. Complex modulus and phase angle analysis has shown improved rheology with addition of MCR to the binders. This study recommends modifying the warm asphalt binders with 10 % MCR for enhanced high-temperature rheology.
