Prospective of Nanocatalysts in Transesterification Process for the Biodiesel Production
Recent research has shown that the application of nanoparticles as heterogeneous catalysts in the generation of biodiesel is now common and has been overgrowing. This paper will provide a general overview of the types of nanocatalysts utilized in biodiesel synthesis reactions and their applications. Several studies and recent literature that focus on nanocatalysts application in biodiesel production will be reviewed and summarized along with the parameters investigated for the reactions. This review also summarizes the common catalyst characterization techniques and analyses used. In addition, some of the current challenges in using heterogeneous nanocatalysts are mentioned.
