Pre-installation assessment of DSRC systems
Dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) based electronic toll collection systems have been widely introduced all over the world. Before investing in the installation, the operator has to assess the system functionality, quality and reliability. The same assessment has to be done by the manufacturers during the product development phase. This paper presents our well-tried approach of testing and evaluating DSRC systems. The basis of the assessment is a well balanced methodology consisting of functionality and conformance testing as well as performance evaluation by simulation.
