A beam controlled array antenna for road to vehicle communications
A novel beam controlled array antenna for advanced road-to-vehicle communication systems at 5.8 GHz band is presented. The antenna can change its radiation pattern in accordance with the beam control information obtained from the communication traffic volume. To evaluate the proposed antenna performance, we designed and constructed a prototype. The theoretical and experimental results obtained confirm that this antenna can be applied to adaptive radio zone controls, such as radio zone dividing and radio zone shifting.
