Study of Modified Bitumen for Asphalt Concrete Road Pavement Using Recycled Materials
The growth of transport and logistics services in Kazakhstan is due to its favorable geographical location. In order to develop the country's transport industry, relevant government programs have been adopted and implemented, including the development of motor transport, which accounts for more than 80% of the volume of transported cargo and more than 25% of cargo turnover. At the same time, the rather low technical and operational level of highways leads to a decrease in the level of safety and reliability of transportation against the backdrop of an increase in their intensity. This article proposes to consider a way to improve the performance qualities of road asphalt concrete by modifying it with special polymer additives. As a result of research, it was determined that the use of polymer additives in bitumen binder increases such physical and mechanical characteristics as the strength and durability of asphalt concrete road surfaces.
