Travelers’ Perception for Park and Ride Service in Bahrain
Park and Ride (P & R) are one of the most important facilities in modern transportation systems. The main objective of this study was to find the perception of people about P & R in Kingdom of Bahrain, especially in the Diplomatic Area. We initialized our work by collecting a questionnaires from the visitors and employees that work/visit in the study area. A logistic regression model was developed for predicting the choice of visitors/employees to use the park and ride facility, if it is provided. We found that for a congested urban area in Bahrain, mode of travel, previous experience of paid parking and duration of stay dominates the users’ choice to opt for park and ride facility.
