Molecular Dynamics Simulation Technology in Asphalt Materials
As the main component of asphalt pavement, asphalt material is crucial to the performance and service life of the road. With the rapid development of computing technology, molecular dynamics simulation technology has been widely used in the research field of asphalt materials. Compared with traditional experimental methods, it has the characteristics of wide application system and small workload, and has become an effective means to study the micro-mechanism of asphalt materials. In this paper, the basic principle and main realization means of asphalt mixture molecular simulation technology, the development of molecular dynamics simulation are reviewed. The molecular dynamics simulation in polymer modified asphalt and nano material modified asphalt was introduced. As modifiers, polymer modifier will absorb the light components in the asphalt and swell, and then to form a stable network structure, which makes the modified asphalt have better elasticity and extensibility. Nano materials can not only solve the problem of high polymer content and poor compatibility of asphalt, but also improve the mechanical properties of polymer modified asphalt in many ways. Finally, the defects of molecular dynamics simulation are summarized.
