A holacratic socio-technical system architecture
A Holacratic Socio-Technical System Architecture (HSTSA) introduces Holacratic Engineering Management (HEM), a proposed new systems engineering and engineering management process model. The purpose of this research study is to determine if HEM arising out of the agile software and agile systems engineering disciplines, delivers on the promise of self-managing, self-organizing, adaptable, resilient and more efficient organizations. By answering the question, “What is the effect of holacratic engineering management architecture on Socio-Technical Systems' performance?” the utility of HEM is investigated. The Holacratic Business Architecture Measurement Instrument (HBAMI) is applied to companies in multiple industries, grouped by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC), to determine HEM architecture and organizational holacracy levels. Correlation analysis between the HBAMI index and dynamic organizational input structure is explored to evaluate value added work production. It is expected that more holacratic enterprise engineering architectures yield higher revenue and intellectual property per employee.
