Genetic Algorithm and Its Application in the Realtime Traffic Signal Optimization Control
In this paper, a mathematical model of optimized allocation of traffic time in the intersection is proposed, whose target is to get an optimal solution based on maximum traffic flow capacity and minimum delayed vehicles of the intersection. A method to optimize cycle time T using traffic intensity is also presented, and then genetic algorithm is used to seek the optimized result of the model. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed method is effective and feasible.
