Enhancing Hands-on Skills of Undergraduates via Crowdsourcing of Solar PV Energy Production
This research investigates the effect of project based learning in order to enhance the hands-on experience of engineering students of undergraduate programs. In this study, we have selected crowdsourcing of energy production from solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The students are assigned to develop and construct a solar PV system as a part of their subject module or study program. Once they complete the project, energy generation will be utilized at large scale grid feeding or college usage. While making the project students will gain the necessary hands-on skills required by program learning outcomes or subject module outcomes. Finally, a survey has been conducted to measure the student attainment and the results show the effectiveness of the methodology.
