Evaluation of Yalova University Engineering Faculty Building with SBTool
In recent years, with increasing importance to environmentally friendly practices, the concept of green building has emerged and many countries has been developed a green building certification system. In this study, Yalova University Engineering Faculty building was evaluated with the SBTool. Some improvements that can be made to increase this score are also discussed. This is the first evaluation of a building with SBTool in Yalova province in Turkey. Because of this, the study is a candidate to be a guide for future SBTool studies performed in the region. As a result, the faculty building is categorized as ‘good practice’ with a ‘C+’ score. This paper is intended to be a guiding study for all SBTool applications in Turkey.
