The architectural art of Xujiang Temple
Located in the north suburb of Sanshui district in Foshan, Xujiang Temple was a hall-style temple dedicated to Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism gods. Though first built in the Song Dynasty, it remained the amazing appearance and decorative arts skills as a good representative of the ancient buildings in Lingnan district after the vicissitudes of life. In this paper, Wudang temple was taken as an example to investigate the outstanding value of the architectural features and decorative arts in it by means of analyzing the building site selection, layout style, elevation features, space frames, architectural decoration and other aspects.
