Initial exploration of Escher's regular plane figures
In this paper, regular plane figures in Escher's art works were explored from the angle of the relationship with mathematics. The figures were classified by three types: regularly filling, infinitely expressing, gradually dynamic expressing, and three basic principles of the design of Escher's regular plane figures were put forward: using shared lines, drawing as saw tooth-like, symmetrically coloring, and therefore the Enlightenment was revealed from Escher's regular plane figures to the modern visual artistic design.
